Writers block: 3 tips to unblock yourself!

Do not lose yourself if you end up with no ideas to write about or blog during the weekend! You haven’t lost the writer in you rather it’s a temporary creative roadblock. Almost every writer comes across this at some point of time and if anyone tells you he or she doesn’t, you can assume it straight away as a lie! Do not shy away from this creative block! Accept it and find out ways to rejuvenate yourself. Acceptance of the problem is the first step to solution!

So, you need some link bait ideas for your blog post today? Or just something interesting to keep up the reputation of your blog or your being a writer! Relax! Just hit on few online and offline places mentioned below and you may just inspire yourself to pen down something more interesting than any of your previous posts.

Digg around!

Internet is the best place to dig around for creative inspiration. However, to just say ‘internet’ would be quite confusing. So, let’s narrow down our dig to digg! Not just Digg, one can even go through several other social news websites like Mixx, Fetch, Sphinn etc and find the latest and good articles on it. One can even try out their own resources of websites which they must have bookmarked over a period of time! So, if you don’t have the habit of bookmarking the lovely websites you visit, then it’s high time you indulge in that habit.
Do not copy the article or the idea entirely. Just let yourself be inspired by it and pen down your own opinions and views on it. You are a good writer, c’mon you can do it!

The magazine rack!

Yes, that’s the place to look out for ‘what’s hot’. Make sure you have the right kind of magazines in your hand. Great ideas do come up when you read some of the really nice articles in a magazine. Regular columnists and their articles especially can be very insightful in this matter (who’s your favorite by the way?). Not just the articles, have a look at the images, ads, cartoons etc too. In fact, any form of creative expression should be able to trigger the writer in you, just keep your mind awake! Just the front cover can get you a great story to be told on your blog!

Check out the popularity charts!

If the magazine doesn’t get you the stuff required, then opt for hunting the popularity charts. Search in both the offline and online places for the ‘most emailed’ or the ‘most blogged’ posts or topics. This will open up a new vista of thoughts to you. Check out the industry journals, forum discussions and communities to get a closer look of what people are hanging on to. You can try finding out the ‘most’ in your niche to narrow down to any specific topic.

So, basically just unwind and you may find yourself all over again!
