Things that are going to stay and things that are going to fade away
It is actually a boring job to see people actually justifying their blog. The situation is even worse in the social media blogging.
List of things that are definitely going to change:
- End of text messaging: It seems that people are paying too much for message plans when they have data plans in their phone. In a mobile environment every one seems to have a phone with e-mail facilities along with Facebook and Twitter. With the invasion of iPhones and BlackBerries, text messaging will become unnecessary. People who cannot use email from their phones will still send text messages.
- Demise of minute plastic cards: Given the advanced technology and rigid security, we can end the era of plastic cards and switch to touch screen technology provided by iPhones which is very efficient and fast. It saves a lot of time too.
- Demise of yellow pages: Get a hold of a phone which is capable of executing Google and save the burden of the bulky book. The search will be immensely fast and reliable as you o not have to flip through the yellow pages desperately looking for contacts, phone numbers, addresses. A simple search in Google will land you in the correct address.
- Re-entry of professional journalism: People will take up writing seriously and write some interesting stuff apart from illustrations of their boring life. Writers will again need some credentials to be considered in the industry. They need to be having quality knowledge about the language and should have innovative content to thrive. The era of idiot-bloggers will slowly fade away as they generally prove to be boring.
- Applications devices which are Internet enabled: For example, Cameras which can upload photographs directly from the Internet is useful and is here to stay. Devices which connect directly to the internet are high on utility and will bring about major changes.
Things that are here to stay:
- Consistency of search engines: Traditional search will emerge victorious when everyone on social media sites is ignorant of the answer or there is no one to answer the question. All effective search engines have answers to all your questions along with some extra information.
- Retail outlets will always have consistent flow of customers: People are always going to prefer buying products from the stores after trying them and thoroughly investigating about the quality. Expensive buys like cars and property are always preferred offline buys. You will always prefer to navigate the place before acquiring a property.
- Geography will always exist: Nothing is more important than being physically present with the person while talking with your friends. Physical presence and hence geography is the clear winner in this regard. Social media sites can never bridge the physical gap between two people. You can merrily connect to someone in France and be best of friends in the virtual world, but until you meet him and have a cup of coffee together you will never understand the essence of the friendship.
