Analytics: The eyes of SEOs

Analytics are the eyes of SEOs. For a long time now, it has been very important for Search Engine Optimizations to measure and keep tabs on their traffic, usability, bounces and conversions. This has become more and more tough a task as there is no single tool that can measure all these parameters.

In spite of this, any SEO worth his salt will agree that analytics is the best way to better a site’s performance, its usability and also to track the performance of keywords. This is because you might have site that comes in the top 3 of searches for its keywords. But if it is not user friendly, it will quickly drive away users. A quick usability analysis by a good software will point out the defects in the site and you will be off to attracting even more customers. Usability, of course is not the only issue with websites and there are many more things that need to be taken into consideration for creating a good website. But analytics help in finding out all the things that are important and should be included in a good site.

Buzz about Analytics
So, what is this entire buzz about analytics, you might question. The PPC counterparts now understand the power behind analytics. With the economic turmoil, more and more companies are resorting to internet marketing.  Due to this the analytics packages are under constant pressure to deliver and hence they are fine tuning their performance too. Alongside these there are new packages coming into the market that help fill the gaps in analytics.

Do current analytic packages live up to the marketers’ expectations?
Most of them do fulfill our expectations, but there are still some issues with analytics packages. The main problem is that we need all the data in a single package and what we have to currently view are multiple analytic packages. This is because there is no package available in the market that can offer all the different data from diverse sources and let us have it all together.

This is because some phones work with Javascript, some don’t and there is always a chance that data from different sources has been duplicated. This is the reason why using data from different packages and collating it is not advisable. In fact, there is no package in the market as of date that offers a method to monitor social buzz.

So there are a lot of problems with the packages, but it needs to be remembered that a specialist will always do a specialized job well and hence a Jack of All analytic tool is definitely a worse option compared to a specialized tool.
